Fubo is launching a new streaming bundle aimed directly at football fans just in time for the NFL season. The package, called Fubo Sports, is designed to be a one stop shop for major sports content, combining channels from ESPN and Fox with local broadcast affiliates for a monthly cost of 56 dollars.
The bundle offers a wide array of over 20 sports and entertainment networks. Subscribers will get access to the full suite of ESPN live channels, which includes the ESPN+ streaming service. From Fox, the package includes FS1, FS2, and somewhat surprisingly, Fox News. The lineup is rounded out by a strong selection of dedicated sports channels including the NFL Network, CBS Sports Network, Big 10 Network, SEC Network, ACC Network, Tennis Channel, and ION.
A key selling point is the inclusion of local broadcast stations that are owned and operated by ABC, CBS, and Fox. This is critical for viewers who want to watch games that are broadcast on their local channels. Fubo has stated that additional local affiliates will be available in certain markets.
The service will support viewing on multiple screens and includes features like video on demand, an unlimited cloud DVR, and family sharing. Fubo also plans to stream some of its live sports content in 4K resolution.
When it comes to value for football enthusiasts, the Fubo Sports bundle presents a compelling case. While it is more expensive than the upcoming ESPN and Fox joint bundle that launches in October for 40 dollars, Fubo’s offering includes significantly more content. It not only matches the sports channels from that bundle but also adds the crucial local broadcast stations and additional sports networks. This extensive coverage means a subscriber could potentially forgo a separate subscription to Paramount+ for CBS sports content. To get completely comprehensive NFL coverage, a fan would only need to add Peacock for NBC’s Sunday Night Football and an Amazon Prime subscription for the Thursday night games.
The launch of this bundle highlights the increasingly complex and fragmented state of live TV streaming. What began as a simple alternative to expensive cable packages has now evolved into a tangled web of services, each holding exclusive rights to different pieces of content, forcing consumers to subscribe to multiple platforms to follow their favorite sports.
For those interested, Fubo is offering a promotional rate for the first month. New subscribers can try Fubo Sports for 46 dollars. After the first month, the price will revert to the standard 56 dollar monthly fee. The bundle officially becomes available on September 2nd, just two days before the first game of the 2025 NFL season kicks off.
