Flame Fatales, the annual all women and femmes speedrunning event from Games Done Quick, is set to begin on September 7th and will run through September 14th. The entire marathon will be broadcast live on the official GDQ Twitch channel, with the action starting daily at 11:30 AM Eastern Time.
This week long event features a packed official schedule with over 50 different speedruns planned. The lineup is a diverse mix of brand new titles and beloved classics. Viewers can look forward to runs of recent hits like Blue Prince and the highly anticipated Hades 2, alongside a run of the classic adventure game The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
One of the most anticipated runs is a one handed speedrun of the original Hollow Knight. This showcase of impressive skill is perfectly timed, arriving just after the long awaited sequel finally launched.
The one handed Hollow Knight run is not the only unique event on the schedule. The speedrun of Blue Prince will incorporate a bingo board element, adding a fun twist, and several other runs will focus specifically on boss rush modes. The event promises a great mix of high level gameplay and entertaining commentary.
This years Flame Fatales is being held to support the Malala Fund, a nonprofit organization dedicated to securing education and resources for girls across the globe. The event is part of the larger Games Done Quick charity initiative, which has collectively raised over 57 million dollars for various charities through its speedrunning marathons over the past 15 years. Flame Fatales is one of two annual events focused on women and femmes speedrunners, with its winter counterpart being called Frost Fatales.
