The Browser Companys AI Powered Browser Dia Is Now Available For All Mac Users The Browser Companys AI powered browser called Dia is now available for download for all macOS users. The browser first started rolling out to private beta testers in June after its initial reveal at the end of last year. Now any Mac user can download it directly. To run Dia you will need a Mac with an M1 chip or later that is running macOS 14 or later. While many web browsers are currently integrating AI features Dia is built from the ground up with AI at its core. The browser allows you to interact with a built in chatbot within every single tab you have open. This AI can search the web compare different websites and answer specific questions about the content displayed on the page you are currently viewing. It also includes an in line copy editor and can summarize text directly on the page without requiring you to copy and paste it into another field. The AI is even designed to be conversational and can attempt to talk you out of making an expensive purchase if you prompt it to do so. The Browser Company is the same team behind the popular Arc browser. However the company shifted its entire focus to developing Dia back in May. The CEO Josh Miller stated that the Arc browser lacked cohesion in both its core features and overall value. He noted that Arc was too different to achieve widespread adoption. The company committed to providing future security updates for existing Arc users many of whom were very vocal in their praise for the browser. In a significant recent development The Browser Company was acquired by Atlassian in a deal valued at approximately 610 million. This acquisition is expected to be finalized by the end of 2025. As part of the agreement The Browser Company was allowed to continue operating independently while it finished work on Dia. The company wrote in a blog post that the acquisition would help it roll out its new AI browser more aggressively. At this time there is no official word on plans for a Windows version of Dia. However given that the Arc browser eventually made its way to Windows it is likely that a Windows version of Dia will be released sooner or later.
