The Beloved Chevrolet Bolt Is Back But Only For A Limited Run One of Americas most affordable electric vehicles has made a comeback. Chevrolet has officially announced a new 2027 model for the Bolt after discontinuing the original in 2023. The revived EV comes with significant upgrades and an even more attractive price point. Chevy stated the new Bolt will begin arriving at dealerships in the first quarter of 2026. The initial launch will feature a Comfort trim starting at 29,990 dollars. An even more affordable LT base model will follow in the coming months with a starting price of 28,995 dollars, reinforcing the Bolts position as a budget friendly EV. For that price, buyers get an electric car with an estimated range of 255 miles on a single charge. A key improvement is in charging speed. The 2027 Bolt can charge at peak speeds of up to 150kW, which Chevrolet says is two and a half times faster than the previous model. A common complaint about the older Bolt was its slow charging, an issue this new version directly addresses. This speed boost comes from a new LFP battery pack. With this battery, the Bolt can charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in approximately 26 minutes at a capable DC fast charger. The vehicle also features a native NACS port, giving it direct access to both standard DC fast chargers and Teslas extensive Supercharger network. Inside, the cabin is modernized with dual screens. An 11 inch driver display sits alongside an 11.3 inch central infotainment screen. The system comes with Google built in, allowing drivers to handle navigation, music, and entertainment directly through the interface. However, in a notable shift, the refreshed Bolt will not be compatible with Apple CarPlay, even though it was a feature in earlier models. Despite the exciting return, Chevrolet is clear that this is a limited run model. The company stated it moved quickly to retain the nameplate after hearing feedback from customers and dealers about ending production. The Bolt will be available for a limited time and is expected to remain one of Chevrolets highest volume electric vehicles during its production run.
