Claude Code Agent Arrives

Anthropic Brings Its Claude Code AI Coding Agent to the Web and iOS Eight months after its initial introduction, Anthropics Claude Code has become a cornerstone of the companys strategy, establishing a strong position in the competitive AI landscape. The coding agent, which was first unveiled at the end of February, is now becoming more accessible with a new web interface and an early preview on iOS. The new web access allows developers to utilize Claude Code directly from their browsers. To begin, users must first connect Claude to their GitHub repositories. Once linked, the interaction is straightforward. Developers describe the coding task they need accomplished, and the AI agent takes over from there. It provides live progress updates as it works, and users can guide the process in real-time with additional instructions or changes. A key feature of the web interface is the ability to assign multiple coding tasks for Claude to run simultaneously. Anthropic emphasized its commitment to security, stating that every Claude Code task operates within an isolated sandbox environment. This setup includes network and filesystem restrictions to protect user systems. All Git interactions are routed through a secure proxy service, which is designed to ensure Claude only accesses the repositories it is authorized to, safeguarding both code and user credentials throughout the workflow. Alongside the web launch, Anthropic is rolling out a preliminary version of Claude Code within its iOS application. The company has labeled this integration as an early preview, acknowledging that the mobile experience is still in development. They have expressed a desire to gather user feedback to quickly refine and improve the functionality on iOS devices. Access to Claude Code on the web is available starting today for users subscribed to the Pro and Max plans. Anthropic also noted that any coding sessions initiated through the web interface will share the same rate limits as all other forms of Claude Code usage, meaning heavy users on multiple platforms will need to manage their overall API consumption. This expansion represents a significant step in making the powerful coding agent more integrated into a developers daily workflow, whether they are at their desk or on the go.
