No Mans Sky Breach Update Adds Salvageable Space Wrecks One of the greatest comeback stories in video game history continues to evolve. For anyone who has checked in on the wildly ambitious space sim No Mans Sky over the past few years, the transformation led by UK developer Hello Games is undeniable, especially for a title that was once the subject of a false advertising investigation. The latest chapter in this saga is the Breach update, which introduces fully explorable space wrecks. Acting as a follow-up to the substantial Voyagers expansion from August, the new Breach update fills the cosmos with floating derelicts ripe for salvage. Players are now invited to plunder these wrecks to their hearts content, gathering materials that can be used to unlock new ship-building parts. Given that the Voyagers update, which finally let players construct their own fully crewed spaceships, was such a hit with the community, Hello Games has also used the Breach update to improve and expand the games workshop feature. This new patch also kicks off a fresh expedition, which are the games time-limited, story-driven events. This particular narrative journey tasks players with traversing a desolate and abandoned universe to uncover the mystery behind a mysterious abandoned wreck. Those who successfully voyage to the edge of space and ransack the remains of the ship will be rewarded with rare parts for their own creations, including glowing Atlas-themed wings. The expedition has a suitably spooky tone, making it a perfect Halloween playthrough for friends. No Mans Sky is set to celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2026, and the Breach update appears to cap off what Hello Games founder Sean Murray calls a crazy year for his team. While it seems almost certain that more updates will arrive during this landmark year, Murray has also been teasing the studios next project. When announcing the Voyagers expansion back in August, he appeared to hint that the ship construction technology introduced for No Mans Sky will also be utilized in their upcoming open-world survival game, Light No Fire, which does not yet have a release date.
