Assassin’s Creed Shadows Confirms Switch 2

Assassins Creed Shadows Confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2 Launch This December Assassins Creed Shadows is officially coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. Ubisoft announced the release date as part of its fall roadmap update for the game. The new version will be available on December 2. The Switch 2 release will include all of the games content and updates except for the recent Claws of Awaji expansion. That major expansion, which added over ten hours of new content including a new region, story, weapons, and bosses, is scheduled to come to the Switch 2 in 2026. The port will support cross-progression via Ubisoft Connect, allowing players to seamlessly continue their existing game progress on the new console. It will also feature a unique control option with touchscreen interactions for menus, the world map, store, and hideout. Ubisofts roadmap outlines three key dates for the game. The first is October 28, which will see the release of Title Update 10. This patch focuses on improving the parkour system by adding an Advanced Parkour option and bringing back the directional catch ledge mechanic. It will also introduce a new Animus-themed activity called Corrupted Castles. The second date is November 25. This update will deliver the games third story drop, a new quest titled A Puzzlement. Developers describe this quest as having a much lighter and sillier tone compared to the main game, more similar to the style of Assassins Creed Odyssey. This quest will also introduce new abilities for the two main protagonists. Naoe will learn a version of Yasuke’s powerful war kick, while the samurai Yasuke will discover how to sneak-stun enemies. A surprise collaboration was also teased for this date. The final date, December 2, marks the launch of Assassins Creed Shadows on the Nintendo Switch 2. This confirms that the highly anticipated console will be available to consumers by that date. Assassins Creed Shadows originally launched on March 20, 2025, for PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. It was received as a strong entry in Ubisofts portfolio. The successful port of another recent Ubisoft title, Star Wars Outlaws, to the Switch 2 has set a positive precedent for how well the new hardware can handle large-scale modern games.
