AT&T Pushes Through Another Internet Price Hike, Citing Evolving Needs AT&T is increasing the monthly price for its home internet service by five dollars. The change is set to take effect on December 1st. This marks the second such increase in a year, following a similar five dollar hike implemented in November 2024. The company confirmed the price adjustment, which arrives despite the telecom giant reporting a substantial profit of 4.9 billion dollars in its most recent quarter. In emails sent to subscribers, AT&T justified the increase by stating it is necessary to ensure it can continue providing the quality service and support customers deserve. An AT&T spokesperson elaborated, explaining that the company is adjusting rates to manage increasing operational costs and meet the evolving needs of its business, all in an effort to maintain the high-quality service customers expect. For some customers, there is a potential way to offset the new charges. AT&T is offering a monthly discount to those who enroll in Autopay and Paperless Billing. Subscribers who link an eligible bank account for Autopay will receive a ten dollar monthly discount. Those who enroll with a debit card will get a five dollar discount. It is not specified how long these discount incentives will be available. For existing customers who already had Autopay enabled prior to this announcement, the full price increase will apply. The price hike will not affect all customers. New subscribers who signed up for service within the last year will not see their bills increase. The change also does not apply to households enrolled in AT&Ts Access program, which is designed for qualifying low-income families.
