Google’s AI Try-On Revolution

Google’s AI-Powered Virtual Try-On Feature Now Available in the US

At I/O 2025, Google introduced an innovative AI tool designed to transform online shopping. The feature allows users to upload a single full-body photo to virtually try on clothing from various online retailers. After a limited preview, the company has officially launched the tool for users in the US.

To use the feature, shoppers can tap the try-on icon on any apparel product listing found through Google Search or Google Images. The AI model behind the tool has been trained to simulate how different fabrics fold, stretch, and drape on various body types. Google claims the technology supports billions of clothing items within its Shopping Graph, though some niche outfits may still pose challenges. Most mainstream retailers, however, are expected to work seamlessly.

Alongside the virtual try-on rollout, Google has upgraded its price-tracking functionality. Users can now set alerts for specific colors, sizes, and even desired price points. The system monitors prices across the web and notifies shoppers when an item meets their criteria. This eliminates the need for manual price checks, making it easier to snag deals on desired products.

Later this year, Google plans to integrate more shopping features into AI Mode, the dedicated AI tab launched in the US earlier this year. By fall, users will be able to explore outfit and decor ideas directly through the AI chatbot, with the option to purchase items instantly.

The new tools aim to streamline online shopping, offering a more personalized and efficient experience. With AI-driven try-ons and smart price tracking, Google is positioning itself as a key player in the future of e-commerce.
