Gemini Crafts Slides From Text

Google Gemini AI Now Creates Full Presentations From a Prompt Google is introducing a powerful new feature for its Gemini AI chatbot, specifically within its free interactive workspace called Canvas. This tool is designed for students and professionals who need to quickly build presentations. The core of the new capability allows Gemini to generate entire slide decks based on a simple text prompt. Users have two primary methods to create a presentation. If they are starting from scratch, they can simply type a request, such as asking Gemini to create a presentation on a specific topic. For those who need the presentation to be based on existing work, Gemini also supports file uploads. Users can upload documents, spreadsheets, or research papers and then instruct the AI to build the slides from that specific source material. The presentations generated by Gemini are not just plain text. They come complete with a visually cohesive theme and include relevant images alongside the written content. Once the AI has created the deck, users can seamlessly export it directly into Google Slides. This allows for further refinement, editing, and collaboration with teammates, just like any other Slides presentation. This new feature is being rolled out to both personal Google accounts and Google Workspace subscribers. It represents a significant expansion of what Canvas can do. Google initially launched Canvas in March as a workspace where users could share their writing or code with Gemini for editing and feedback. The platform could already generate visual representations for project ideas like app designs, web pages, and infographics. This new presentation-building feature builds directly on that interactive foundation, positioning Gemini as a more comprehensive tool for productivity and content creation. The capability to generate full presentations is available now for Gemini Pro subscribers and will become available to free users in the coming weeks.
