Google Reveals Pixel 10 Design Ahead of Launch
Google has given us an early look at the design of its upcoming Pixel 10 smartphone, nearly a month before the official launch event. The teaser, available on the Google Store homepage, shows a device that closely resembles the Pixel 9, with a protruding camera unit similar to the Pixel 9 Pro. The big difference? An extra camera, hinting at possible upgrades across the lineup.
Rumors suggest Google may equip all Pixel 10 models with telephoto cameras in 2025, though it’s unclear if the teased device is the base Pixel 10 or the Pro variant. The official unveiling is set for August 20, so we won’t have to wait long for confirmation.
Next iPad Pro Could Feature Dual Front Cameras
Apple’s upcoming iPad Pro might include a second front-facing camera, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The new camera would sit on the portrait edge, addressing complaints from users who found Face ID less convenient after Apple shifted the front camera to the landscape side in the 2024 iPad Pro.
The new model is also expected to feature an upgraded M5 chip, boosting performance and efficiency. While the tablet is likely to launch later this year, Apple’s in-house modems won’t arrive until the M6 generation.
Meta Refuses to Sign EU’s AI Code of Practice
Meta has declined to endorse the European Union’s voluntary AI code of conduct, calling the guidelines an overreach. The framework supports the EU’s AI Act, which governs AI development and deployment in the region. Meta’s global affairs officer criticized the approach, stating that Europe is heading in the wrong direction with AI regulation.
Since the code is non-binding, Meta faces no penalties for opting out, but the move highlights growing tensions between tech giants and EU regulators.
Early Impressions of the Galaxy Watch 8
Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 8 is making a strong first impression, with improved hardware and new AI-powered features. The redesigned case is more comfortable, and the raised display makes scrolling easier. Google’s Gemini AI is now accessible directly from the watch, adding smart functionality.
Fitness tracking remains a highlight, with accurate workout monitoring and an intuitive Health app. However, the new antioxidant detection feature requires removing the watch for use and didn’t show immediate results in early testing.
