iPhone 17: Thinner, Smarter, Faster

Apple’s iPhone 17 Event: What to Expect From the Thinnest iPhone Yet

Apple’s annual iPhone launch event is just around the corner, likely happening next month. This year’s lineup could include the thinnest iPhone ever, alongside new Apple Watch models and possibly the long-awaited AirPods Pro 3.

The iPhone 17 family is rumored to introduce a new model called the iPhone Air, which could be as slim as 5.55 mm, making it significantly thinner than the iPhone 6 (6.9 mm) and the current iPhone 16 Pro (8.25 mm). This ultra-thin design would position Apple as a direct competitor to Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge. However, the sleek profile may come with trade-offs, including a single 48 MP camera and a smaller battery, making it a niche choice for style-focused users.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are expected to switch from titanium to aluminum and feature a redesigned rear camera setup. The new camera island could span most of the phone’s back, housing three lenses, with the telephoto camera potentially upgrading to 48 MP for better zoom capabilities. An anti-glare display coating, similar to iPads, might also debut.

The standard iPhone 17 could finally get a 120Hz ProMotion display, a feature previously reserved for Pro models. All new iPhones will run iOS 26, which introduces Apple’s Liquid Glass design language, offering a fresh visual experience.

Beyond iPhones, Apple is expected to unveil new Apple Watch models. The Ultra 3 may include 5G connectivity, satellite texting, and a faster processor, while the Series 11 could refine last year’s design with performance upgrades.

The AirPods Pro 3 might also make an appearance after three years, with rumors suggesting new health-tracking features like heart rate and temperature monitoring, along with live translation capabilities.

With a mix of sleek designs, performance boosts, and new features, Apple’s upcoming event promises to deliver exciting updates across its product lineup.
