JBL Unveils Massive New PartyBox 720 and Updated Boombox 4 Speakers
JBL has announced the PartyBox 720, a colossal new portable party speaker that the company claims is its largest battery-powered model ever. The speaker is designed to be the centerpiece of any gathering, boasting a powerful 800W audio system.
The PartyBox 720 is built around a robust sound system featuring two 9-inch woofers and a pair of 30mm dome tweeters. To ensure the audio remains clear even at high volumes, JBL has included its proprietary AI Sound Boost technology, which is designed to increase output without introducing distortion. Powering the experience is a user-replaceable battery that provides up to 15 hours of playtime on a single charge.
Beyond the audio, the speaker is equipped with a futuristic light show that syncs to the music. For those looking to host a karaoke night or a DJ session, the PartyBox 720 includes two XLR ports for connecting microphones, guitars, or mixing consoles.
Connectivity options are modern and extensive. The speaker supports multi-speaker linking via Auracast technology and features a USB-C port for streaming audio directly from a device. Pre-orders for the JBL PartyBox 720 are available now for 1,099 dollars, with shipments scheduled to begin on September 21.
Alongside the party-focused model, JBL also introduced the Boombox 4, a new iteration of its popular portable Bluetooth speaker. This update features the same AI Sound Boost technology found in the PartyBox for louder, distortion-free sound. A key improvement is a reduction in weight, making the new model nearly two pounds lighter than its predecessor for easier transport.
The Boombox 4 is built to be durable with an IP68 rating for resistance against both water and dust. It also integrates with Auracast for connecting to other compatible speakers. Its replaceable battery offers an impressive 28 hours of battery life. The JBL Boombox 4 is available for pre-order now at a price of 550 dollars and comes in three color options. It is set to start shipping on September 28.
