LG Teases CLOiD Home Robot Ahead of CES 2026 Unveiling Ahead of the major CES 2026 tech conference in Las Vegas, LG has previewed a new home robot named CLOiD. The announcement comes as humanoid robotics are expected to be a dominant theme at the upcoming event. Positioned as a step toward LG’s vision of a Zero Labor Home, the robot is designed to assist with household tasks, aiming to free up time for users. The company highlighted CLOiD’s pair of articulated arms, each equipped with five independently actuated fingers, as key to handling a variety of domestic chores. Specific examples of tasks, however, were not provided. Details on the robot’s full appearance remain scarce. LG has released only a couple of close-up images focusing on CLOiD’s hands, keeping the overall design a secret until its official debut at the show. Technologically, CLOiD’s processing chipset is located in its head unit. This section also incorporates a display, a speaker, a camera, and an array of sensors intended to facilitate expressive communication with users. LG states the robot is powered by what it calls Affectionate Intelligence, engineered for neutral and user-friendly interactions. The system is also designed to learn and refine its responses through ongoing interactions with its owner. CES has a history of showcasing ambitious concept products that sometimes fail to reach the consumer market. It is not yet clear whether CLOiD represents a genuine path to a commercial product or is primarily a demonstrator for the show. LG plans to have the robot perform real-life scenario demonstrations at its booth during CES. Visitors to the Las Vegas Convention Center will get the first chance to see CLOiD in action and judge its potential for themselves when CES 2026 begins in January.
