New cast members are also highlighted. Sigourney Weaver appears as a fighter pilot, and Jeremy Allen White is featured as Rotta, the son of the infamous crime lord Jabba the Hutt. The trailer maintains the adventurous tone and humor characteristic of the original series. In one lighthearted moment, Grogu attempts to use the Force to steal a snack from Weaver’s character, only to be thwarted. The Mandalorian and Grogu will mark the first Star Wars film to be released in theaters since 2019s The Rise of Skywalker.
