Disney Releases First Trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu Movie Disney has unveiled the first trailer for the upcoming Star Wars film The Mandalorian and Grogu. The movie is set to continue the story from the popular Disney+ series and is scheduled for a theatrical release on May 22, 2026. Jon Favreau, the creator of the show, is directing the project. The 94-second trailer provides a glimpse of the action but keeps specific plot details under wraps. It confirms the return of Pedro Pascal as the titular Mandalorian, or Din Djarin, alongside the ever-popular Grogu. The preview showcases the duo battling various enemies, including robots and alien creatures, and features a dramatic sequence where they destroy an AT-AT walker. New cast members are also highlighted. Sigourney Weaver appears as a fighter pilot, and Jeremy Allen White is featured as Rotta, the son of the infamous crime lord Jabba the Hutt. The trailer maintains the adventurous tone and humor characteristic of the original series. In one lighthearted moment, Grogu attempts to use the Force to steal a snack from Weaver’s character, only to be thwarted. The Mandalorian and Grogu will mark the first Star Wars film to be released in theaters since 2019s The Rise of Skywalker. It is set to be followed a year later by another movie, Star Wars: Starfighter.
