Orbitals: 90s Anime Co-Op Adventure Awaits

Nintendo wrapped up its latest partner showcase with a series of Bethesda reveals, but the most intriguing title was the one that kicked things off. Orbitals, a two-player puzzle adventure game, is coming exclusively to the Switch 2 in summer 2026. First revealed earlier this year, Orbitals follows intergalactic explorers Maki and Omura on a mission to save their stellar home from a cosmic storm. The gameplay appears to draw inspiration from celebrated co-op adventures like It Takes Two, focusing on collaborative puzzles. However, the game’s defining feature is its stunning 90s anime-inspired art style. The visuals are a major standout, with the game looking exceptionally polished both in cutscenes and during gameplay. It successfully captures the vibrant, detailed aesthetic of a classic animated series, making it a visually compelling experience from start to finish. While matching the creative co-op design of studios like Hazelight is a high challenge, Orbitals presents a strong case for being a memorable journey based on its atmosphere and style alone. The game will support both local and online cooperative play. Leveraging the Switch 2’s GameShare feature, only one player needs to own the game to team up online. Orbitals is scheduled for release in summer 2026 as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive.
