Pixel 10 Pro: Charging Reimagined.

Google Unveils Pixel 10 Pro Series with Qi2 Charging and Major Upgrades

After months of anticipation, Google has officially revealed the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL. The new flagships introduce significant improvements over the Pixel 9 Pro, headlined by the long-awaited addition of Pixelsnap, a magnetic Qi2 wireless charging system.

This move finally brings a MagSafe-like ecosystem to a flagship Android device. Pixelsnap allows the phones to magnetically align with a new range of Qi2-compatible chargers, promising both convenience and faster wireless charging speeds. This functionality opens the door to a new world of snap-on accessories for the Pixel.

Photography remains a core strength. Both models feature a triple rear camera setup with a 50MP wide lens, a 48MP ultrawide with macro capabilities, and an upgraded 48MP 5x telephoto lens. While the telephoto lens retains the same f/2.8 aperture and field of view as its predecessor, Google claims it has been improved. ProRes support is standard for professional-grade video editing.

The displays see a notable boost in brightness. The 6.3-inch Pixel 10 Pro and 6.8-inch Pixel 10 Pro XL both feature a Super Actua display with a 120Hz variable refresh rate. They can now hit a peak brightness of 3,300 nits, or 2,200 nits for HDR content, making them roughly ten percent brighter than the previous generation.

Battery life receives a massive upgrade. Google states both phones have their largest batteries yet, delivering over 30 hours of life, which is a 25 percent increase. Wired charging sees the Pro support 30W and the Pro XL support 45W. For wireless charging, the Pro XL is the first phone to support the new Qi2.2 standard for 25W speeds, while the standard Pro is capped at 15W. Both models come with 16GB of RAM.

Powering the devices is the new Google Tensor G5 chip, which enables a suite of on-device AI features for the entire Pixel 10 lineup. A key introduction is Magic Cue, designed to provide relevant information contextually, such as surfacing flight details when you call the airline. Another feature, Camera Coach, uses AI to help users take better photos by offering guidance on angles and lighting.

The Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL will be available in four colors: Moonstone, Jade, Porcelain, and Obsidian. Pricing starts at $999 for the 128GB Pixel 10 Pro. The Pixel 10 Pro XL starts at $1,199 with 256GB of storage, doubling the base storage of its predecessor. Pre-orders begin today, with availability starting on August 28.
