PS5 Beta Unlocks Multi-Device DualSense Magic

Sony is making life easier for PlayStation 5 gamers with a new quality-of-life update for the DualSense controller. The upcoming PS5 system beta will allow players to pair their DualSense with multiple devices simultaneously, eliminating the need to re-pair every time they switch platforms. This means gamers can seamlessly move their controller between a PS5, gaming PC, and smartphone without the usual hassle.

The feature supports up to four devices paired to a single controller at once. Each device is mapped to one of the controller’s action buttons—triangle, circle, cross, or square. Switching between them is simple: turn on the desired device, then hold the PS button and the corresponding action button for three seconds. When the controller’s light bar blinks, release the buttons, and the connection will shift to the selected device.

While not every player will need this functionality, it’s a game-changer for those who frequently switch between gaming platforms. The convenience of not having to repeatedly pair and unpair the controller removes a common friction point for multi-device gamers.

Currently, the beta is invite-only, but Sony has confirmed plans for a global rollout in the coming months. This update is another step in making the DualSense one of the most versatile controllers on the market, bridging the gap between console and PC gaming with ease.
