Skateboarding Demon Made of Glass Awaits in Skate Story This December Who hasnt dreamed of breaking out of hell as a skateboarding demon made of glass. That exact fantasy is the premise of the upcoming indie game Skate Story. The publisher Devolver Digital, known for its support of creative and subversive games, has announced a final release date of December 8. In Skate Story, you are a fragile glass demon. Your quest for freedom involves performing skateboarding tricks like ollies, kickflips, and grinds. The goal is to swallow the moon and break the Devils hold on you. The developers metaphors might be abstract, but the visual style is undeniably striking. The trailer showcases a satisfying contrast between the fluidity of landing a trick and the visceral shattering of your glass body. The games journey to release has been a long one. It was first announced back in 2020 and has been delayed multiple times since. Last year, Devolver even featured it in a humorous showcase dedicated specifically to games it was delaying into 2024. The company missed that window as well, but with this new December 8 date, it seems the wait is finally over. Skate Story will be available on PC, Mac, and PS5. For those eager to try it immediately, a playable demo is currently available on Steam.
