Geralt’s Final Chapter Begins October

The Witcher Season 4 Arrives on Netflix This October with a New Geralt

After a long wait, Netflix has finally announced the release date for the fourth season of The Witcher. The new season will premiere on October 30. A teaser trailer shared over the weekend gave fans their first substantial look at Liam Hemsworth in the lead role of Geralt of Rivia. This major casting change has been a significant point of discussion for the fanbase, which had grown deeply attached to Henry Cavill’s portrayal across the show’s first three seasons.

The minute-and-a-half long clip provides a proper sense of the new Geralt, offering glimpses of his look and the tone of his voice, though it reveals little about the season’s actual plot. The upcoming season will also introduce several key new characters to the series. Laurence Fishburne joins the cast as Regis, with Sharlto Copley playing Leo Bonhart and James Purefoy taking on the role of Skellen.

This season marks the beginning of the end for the Netflix adaptation. The streaming service has confirmed that the series will conclude with its fifth season. These final two seasons are planned to cover the events of the last three books in Andrzej Sapkowski’s series: Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow, and Lady of the Lake.

For fans of the wider Witcher universe, there is more content on the horizon beyond the live-action show. A new mainline video game, often referred to by fans as The Witcher 4, is in development by CD Projekt Red. While an official release date for the game has not been announced, its production continues.
