Lawyers for xAI state that OpenAI hired two other xAI employees who also stole proprietary information. The legal filing details specific allegations. It states that another early xAI engineer Jimmy Fraiture was harvesting xAIs source code and transferring it to his personal devices to take to OpenAI where he is now employed. Furthermore the lawsuit claims a senior finance executive took knowledge of xAIs secret sauce for rapid data center deployment to OpenAI with no intention of honoring his legal obligations to xAI. In response to the lawsuit OpenAI provided a statement saying This new lawsuit is the latest chapter in Mr Musks ongoing harassment. The company asserted it has no tolerance for any breaches of confidentiality nor any interest in trade secrets from other labs. The legal battle is the latest in a series of conflicts between Musk and OpenAI. Musk who was a co founder of OpenAI has a complicated history with the organization. Last month xAI filed lawsuits against both OpenAI and Apple concerning the placement of its Grok AI on the App Store charts. Musk alleged that ChatGPTs top rank represented an unequivocal antitrust violation. Musk has also initiated numerous other legal challenges against OpenAI.
