Pixel 10 Debuts Qi2 Charging

Google Pixel 10 Could Be the First Pixel With Native Qi2 Wireless Charging

Google’s upcoming Pixel 10 might support Qi2 wireless charging without needing a case, making it the first Pixel model and one of the few Android phones to offer this feature. A leaked image from Evan Blass shows a Qi2 charger attached directly to the back of a Pixel 10, suggesting the phone has built-in magnets required for the fast-charging system.

Rumors last month hinted that Google was developing a new line of Pixelsnap Qi2 accessories, fueling speculation that the Pixel 10 would finally introduce this highly requested feature. While some reports suggested a case might still be necessary, the leaked image appears to confirm native Qi2 support.

Qi2 charging offers speeds up to 15 watts or higher in future updates and requires embedded magnets for proper alignment. So far, only recent iPhones and the HMD Skyline have native Qi2 support, while other Android flagships like the Galaxy S25 and OnePlus 13 are only Qi2-ready, meaning they need a magnetic case for full functionality.

If the Pixel 10 does include native Qi2 support, it could significantly boost adoption of the standard, especially if Google releases compatible accessories. The news adds to an already detailed picture of the Pixel 10 lineup, which is expected to feature a 6.8-inch Super Actua display on the Pro XL model, the Tensor G5 chip, a triple-camera system, 8K video recording, and up to 100 hours of battery life.

Google is likely to officially announce the Pixel 10 series, including the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Fold, at its Made by Google event on August 20. The event may also introduce the Pixel Watch 3, Pixel Buds Pro 2, and other accessories.
