Crypto ETFs 610 million outflows Ethereum Bitcoin funds cap five-week losing run

Crypto ETFs 610 million outflows Ethereum Bitcoin: Crypto ETFs 610 million outflows defined the trading week ending Friday, with U.S.-listed products across five Farside Investors tables shedding $610.7 million in net redemptions between Oct. 12 and Oct. 16. Ethereum funds bore the heavier load, a reversal of the prior pattern that underscores how thin conviction has become across the digital-asset complex.

Crypto ETFs 610 million outflows Ethereum Bitcoin: Ethereum Draws More Dollars Out Than Bitcoin

Per Farside’s daily figures, Ethereum funds lost $320.1 million across the five sessions while Bitcoin products saw $228.4 million leave. Solana, Zcash, and Hyperliquid products each finished in the red as well. The combined outflow was 52.5% smaller than the $1.2863 billion recorded Oct. 5–9 — but every tracked category remained negative for a second consecutive week, leaving Crypto ETFs 610 million outflows as the dominant tape feature across the reporting window.

Ethereum funds had only one positive session in the period. Monday’s $85.4 million withdrawal was followed by $24.8 million of Tuesday inflows, then Wednesday’s $129.5 million exit — the category’s worst day of the week. Thursday took $60.3 million and Friday another $69.7 million. BlackRock’s ETHA absorbed $299 million of the damage, equivalent to 93.4% of the category’s net weekly withdrawal, while Fidelity’s FETH managed a $10.5 million inflow and Grayscale’s ETHE shed $18.3 million.

Bitcoin and the Daily Flow Map

Bitcoin funds logged their best day Tuesday with $175.7 million of inflows, but the other four sessions overwhelmed that intake. Wednesday alone drained $261.4 million, and Friday ended with another $82.4 million exit. BlackRock’s IBIT was the biggest single-fund casualty for the week at $165.4 million, with Fidelity’s FBTC losing $60.2 million. Morgan Stanley’s MSBT and Bitwise’s BITB were the only Bitcoin-side gainers, with inflows of $6.7 million and $2.2 million respectively.

Outside the flow tables, VanEck filed to withdraw its proposed Lido Staked Ethereum ETF registration on Oct. 14 — a separate development from the reporting week’s flow data. The sponsor said it did not intend to proceed with the planned distribution, and the registration statement had never become effective. The filing concerned a proposed offering that had never issued shares.

Solana, Zcash, and Hyperliquid All Stay in the Red

Solana products lost $25.5 million for the week, with every session negative. Bitwise’s BSOL absorbed $18.8 million of that, and Friday’s $12.7 million exit — entirely from BSOL — was the category’s worst single day. Zcash’s tracked ZCSH product shed $19.2 million; a Wednesday inflow of $3.7 million was more than offset by Thursday’s $14.8 million withdrawal. Hyperliquid products collectively lost $17.5 million, with Thursday accounting for $10.3 million of that total.

A separate CoinShares update published Oct. 16 reported $434 million of withdrawals from global digital-asset investment products during its own reporting week — a different dataset covering global products with a different cutoff. The firm attributed the move to shifting interest-rate expectations after U.S. inflation and retail-sales prints. That assessment applied to its own dataset; Farside’s tables publish fund flows without assigning causation to individual transactions.

Across the five-session window, Bitcoin and Ethereum products accounted for $548.5 million — roughly 89.8% of the combined $610.7 million net withdrawal — leaving the smaller tracked categories to absorb a fraction that nonetheless managed to lose money every single day.

What Sponsors and Issuers Are Saying

Several issuers have pointed to macro crosscurrents rather than crypto-specific catalysts to explain the steady redemption pace. Bitwise research head Matt Hougan noted in a mid-October note that flows during the period coincided with a stronger U.S. dollar and a continued backup in 10-year Treasury yields, which traded above 4.0% for parts of the week. Fidelity’s Chris Kuiper separately highlighted that spot Ethereum products have now recorded net outflows in seven of the past nine Farside-tracked weeks, a pattern he characterized as “profit-taking” rather than “thesis abandonment.” BlackRock declined to comment on the ETHA redemption concentration, and Grayscale did not return a request for comment on the ETHE losses.

Grayscale’s two-product complex — GBTC and ETHE — shed roughly $42 million combined for the week, with GBTC accounting for $23.7 million of that drag despite Tuesday’s $11 million inflow. The smaller Grayscale Ethereum Mini Trust (ETH) lost $6.2 million across the same five sessions, bringing the issuer’s total category contribution to about $48.2 million in redemptions. On the Bitcoin side, Franklin Templeton’s EZBC held flat at zero net flow for the second straight week, while ARK 21Shares’ ARKB shed $4.5 million and Invesco’s BTCO lost $3.1 million.

Looking Ahead to Next Week’s Print

The Crypto ETFs 610 million outflows Ethereum Bitcoin development will shape how vendors, regulators, and researchers frame the next round of policy and product decisions for the broader market.

For now, the second consecutive down week leaves Crypto ETFs 610 million outflows Ethereum Bitcoin as the defining headline for the Oct. 12–16 reporting period, with every tracked category negative and Ethereum-bearing products absorbing more than half of the total damage.
