Pixel10Launch: AI, Colors, Qi2 Charging

Google Set to Unveil Pixel 10 Series and More on August 20

After a strong focus on AI advancements at Google I/O 2025, the company is shifting gears to hardware. The next Made by Google event is scheduled for August 20, where the tech giant will likely showcase its latest Pixel phones, watches, earbuds, and possibly new accessories.

Pixel 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL, and 10 Pro Fold

Google has already teased the design of its upcoming Pixel 10 lineup, confirming leaks that suggest the phones will retain the pill-shaped camera bump and flat display introduced with the Pixel 9. However, subtle changes are expected, including thicker builds and new color options. The Pixel 10 will reportedly come in Frost (royal blue), Lemongrass (yellow), Indigo (light purple), and Obsidian (dark gray). The Pro and Pro XL models will feature Obsidian, Porcelain (off-white), Moonstone (bluish gray), and Jade (light green). The Pixel 10 Pro Fold may launch in Moonstone and Jade.

Camera upgrades are also on the way. The Pixel 10 series is expected to include a new 11MP 5x telephoto lens, similar to the one on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. The Pro and Pro XL models may feature a 50MP wide, 48MP ultrawide, 48MP telephoto, and 48MP selfie cameras. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold could have a different setup, with a 12MP ultrawide and telephoto, along with 11MP selfie cameras.

Under the hood, the Tensor G5 chip will power the new devices. Built on a 3nm process by TSMC, the chip is expected to prioritize efficiency and AI capabilities over raw performance gains.

Pixel Watch 4

Following the success of the Pixel Watch 3, Google aims to refine its smartwatch further with the Pixel Watch 4. Leaks suggest a slightly thicker design with smaller bezels, available in 41mm and 45mm sizes. New color options, including Moonstone to match the Pixel 10, are expected.

The watch may also feature a brighter display, a larger battery, and a shift to wireless charging via a stand instead of the previous pogo-pin puck. Wear OS 6, which includes built-in Gemini access, will likely debut on the Pixel Watch 4, alongside potential Fitbit Premium-exclusive fitness features.

Pixel Buds 2a

Instead of updating its premium Pixel Buds Pro 2, Google may introduce the Pixel Buds 2a, a more affordable alternative to its flagship earbuds. While details are scarce, the new earbuds could adopt some of the color schemes from the Pixel 10 lineup.

Pixelsnap: Google’s Answer to MagSafe

Google is reportedly embracing the Qi2 wireless charging standard with a new feature called Pixelsnap. The Pixel 10 series may include built-in magnets to support faster wireless charging, along with a lineup of Pixelsnap accessories. This move aligns with the Wireless Power Consortium’s announcement of Qi2 25W charging coming to major Android phones.

Gemini and Software Exclusives

With Gemini at the forefront of Google’s AI push, the Pixel 10 launch will likely highlight new software features powered by the assistant. Recent Pixel updates have heavily integrated Gemini, and the new devices could introduce additional AI-driven capabilities.

The Made by Google event kicks off on August 20 at 1PM ET, with in-person and online coverage expected. Stay tuned for the latest updates on Google’s newest hardware lineup.
