Plants vs. Zombies Replanted Blooms on Switch

Plants vs. Zombies Returns with HD Remaster and New Features for Nintendo Switch

The beloved tower defense game Plants vs. Zombies is making a comeback with a fresh HD remaster titled Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted. Set to launch on October 23 for the Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Switch 2, this remake brings the classic 2009 game back to life with modern upgrades.

This marks the first time the original Plants vs. Zombies has appeared on a Nintendo console since its DS release. Unlike a simple visual upgrade, Replanted introduces new levels, hidden secrets, and enhanced gameplay features. One of the biggest additions is local co-op and PvP modes, a feature previously limited to the PSN and Xbox Live Arcade versions from the early 2010s.

Preorders are now available, with early buyers receiving a retro Peashooter skin as a bonus. While the remaster is currently exclusive to Nintendo platforms, there’s a strong possibility it will expand to other systems in the future.

The announcement was part of a recent Nintendo Direct showcase, which focused on third-party titles. Highlights included a new Octopath Traveler game from Square Enix and the confirmation that Persona 3 Reload will arrive on the Switch 2. Another unusual addition was a cozy campfire-building simulator, adding a quirky touch to the lineup.

Fans of the original Plants vs. Zombies can look forward to revisiting the game with improved visuals and fresh content, making this remaster a must-watch for both nostalgic players and newcomers.
